93 xj lift gate rattles
 
hey everyone its me the jeepney, on my 93 xj the rear lift gate rattles when
i drive down the road. is there any way to stop the rattle?.......... thanks

This is usually caused by the latch being out of adjustment (IE the
Latch post has moved over time) a couple of things you can do 1, quick
fix is to adjust your Rubber stops out further (you can find these on
either side and you just need a wrench to move them out) 2, Adjust to
position of your latch post.. this can be time consuming if you don't
know what you are doing.. Just loosen the 4 screws that hold it in and
move it in (towards the front of the jeep) about a Centemeter tighten
everything up and see if that does the trick.. if not do it again and
again and again.. then you will find that you have moved it in too far
and the damn door doesn't want to latch anymore.. start over.. it
normally takes me about an hour to get it right.. but that will fix you
up.. also make sure that everything on the door is good and tight
including the locking mechanism oh one last thought LOCKTIGHT
