92 Jeep Cherokee

Hey guys, I have a 92 Cherokee that keeps quiting , but as soon as it
quits you wait a few min. and it will start right back up. I was
thinking the cam censor or something. The problem I have is that I
took it to be diagnosed and they couldn't find the plug for
it........WHERE IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE ? Could anyone tell me? Thanks

The Crank position sensor is on the drivers side top bellhousing.
Follow the wires from there. It could be on top of the intake manifold
or I have heard of some over on the passenger side firewall.

Usually the plug and socket just needs a clean. A spray contact cleaner
is best, but WD40 will work in a pinch.

The cam position sensor's plug and socket are down near the
distributor. Same deal goes on the cleaning.

Re: 92 Jeep Cherokee

If they don't know where the plug is, maybe somebody else should be
diagnosing it...

OBDII standards were not mandated till 96 model year. As another replied
take it somewhere that has the equipment for your jeep.
