91 YJ Turn signal assy. questions
 

My wife took the YJ to school the other day and turned on the windshield wiper
to get some condensation off the windshield. In doing so the shaft inside the
plastic sleeve snapped off at the switch.
Question 1, since the tip of the shaft is stuck in the switch is there any way
to get it out and save the switch?
Q 2, If I need to replace the switch as well as the lever what would be
involved in switching to an intermittent system (right now it has only the two
speed wipers). Is it as easy as getting the intermitant switch and lever and
throwing a new relay in the fuse box?

The t/s lever is totally mechanical (at least it is on my '94) and simply
snaps into place in the switch. Problem is getting the broken off stub out
of it. I had a mover snap mine off several years ago loading it onto a
moving van. When I replaced the lever I had to pull the wheel, and a bunch
of other crap just to get the damn switch out and push the broken off stub
out. Therefore, see if you can run a small drill bit into the broken off
stub, then run a screw into it and gently pull the stub out. All you'll have
to do at that point is simply push the new t/s lever in and you're done.

I think all you need is a proper lever and a relay, but don;t hold me to
this! Check a factory diagram for that year.
