89YJ BBD and Fuel tank
OK, we got another jeep in the family, 89 YJ, slowly we are replacing parts
as we go, latest is a fuel problem. BBD has the dribbles, cleaned the tubes out and reassembled, lasted about a week, ordering a rebuild kit tomorrow but I have read about drilling out the venturi tubes, which ones get drilled out, the two long thin ones or those short nipply looking ones and just how big do you drill out to. Died the other day, no fuel delivery, pump is good and also new, plugged in quart bottle on the ground to the mech fuel pump intake and it drained it about 30 seconds or so. Plug the tank back into the pump, no juice. Son dropped the tank today, some crud. Question, there is some kind of flat filter on the bottom of the pickup, it's kinda black and stiff, whats normal and is the part avail or does it involve a new assembly. Blew all the hoses out with air and some black and green crud came out. Thanks Rich Pierson |

Yea, also ran a fine wire drill thru the tubes and got out alot of varnish
that the FI cleaner didn't get. Went thru three drill sizes till it stopped coming out. Still going to do the rebuild this weekend. onlyinajeepcj7@aol.com (Onlyinajeepcj7) wrote in news:20030717023659.06890.00000046@mb-m06.aol.com: >>black and green crud > > sounds like you found one of the problems |
