84 XJ steering box

What's it take to rebuild a power steering box on an 84 XJ? Or would it be
better to just replace it? Mine's developed a leak but I can't quite tell
where. There's been an increasing amount of wiggle in the steering that
sort of oscillates at around 50-60mph. How do I tell which box or which kit
is needed?

Thanks,
-Bill Kearney

Is the box bad or is it just coming loose?

Leaking like a sieve. Can't be sure where from however as it's sort of hard
to get a good look at it. I'm figuring that at about 260k on the odo it's
not unreasonable to need replacing.

More reasonable to have a hose leak....

It should be cleaned off first to see what is what. You can get a kit
for them and the kit is easy to put in. You also can just get the
individual seals for them.
