31's causing noise in tranny?

I notice a lot of rattling sounds in 1st and 2nd gear now that I got
these BFG 31's on a few days ago. The jeep rides nicer and still has
decent power with the 3.73 gears. Actually I don't notice any power
loss in coming from the stock 30's. It seems to be a better match
with the gearing than the 30's were, at least in the lower gears. But
it's making a lot of rattle now. Anyone have any ideas or is this a
common thing that can be fixed?

thanks
Jeff

Hmmmm not common, at least not that I know of. Didn't happen when I
switched to 31's from 30's anyway. Anyone?

Re: 31's causing noise in tranny?

Mike, it's a 98 sport. 3.73

I doesn't really feel like I'm lugging the engine, but it sounds like
it. Is it because I made my gearing taller? I'm not really into the
technical stuff, but I thought 3.73 was a good match for a 31" tire.

thanks
