I let the ZJ get too low once coming home from a long road trip.
Any slowing down would stall the engine. i.e. someone cutting in
front of me.

From that point on I keep at least 1/2 tank.

I let the ZJ get too low once coming home from a long road trip.

front of me.

Yeah, got too busy ONCE and let the "pedestrian light" [1] come on.
Almost made it to the one 76 station on that side of the freeway. From
the time the light flickered until it ran out was less than 3 miles.

[1] warning you are about to become one.

local rock club. Asked the pump jock to pump one gallon.
Paid with a quarter and got 6 cents change. Ahhh when I was 18.

Good grief, I've got 30 miles or more left when the one in my XJ comes on!
