2003 Rubicon

My friend just bought a 2003 Rubicon. It is stuck in park in such a way
that the release button cannot be depressed all the way. Is this a common
problem with these vehicles? Does any know what causes this to occur and
how can it be corrected?

Thanks in advance.

Re: 2003 Rubicon

Look at the wheel that is turned hard into the curb, turn the
steering wheel as hard as you can into the curb as if the power steering
were still assisting you and have another person start the engine.

Re: 2003 Rubicon

You have to have your foot on the brake pedal to release the lock.
