1988 Jeep Wrangler

Well I want to keep the 4.2 liter I-6 stock cast iron exhaust manifold as it
is, but I now need to replace the front pipe, the cat and from the cat back.
I have been working with Quadratec but have not had any luck getting some
questions answered.

First of all the gave me these part numbers.

front pipe --51403.04

cat --17611.09

installation kit -- 17611.55

cat back--17603.01

Now here is the kicker. On my jeep at the end of the front pipe where it
connects to the cat there are flanges on each piece, both the front pipe and
the cat. These flanges have a gasket between them and they are attached to a
bracket that goes to the transmission mount. By looking at the cat and front
pipe pictures at the www.quadratec.com site you will see that they are not
there. So the question is, did they make some modification on later jeeps
and do away with these flanges, therefore just clamping the tubes together
leaving the entire exhaust system only supported at the cast iron exhaust
maifold and the hanger after the muffler?

Does anyone really know how to cure this issue?

Thanks

Please reply to my e-mail address since I very seldom come to the news
group.
