1965 Jeep ID

Ok, I'm sitting here reading the local Nickel and have run across a
interesting ad. "1965 Jeep V200 etc. needs steering box, see at blah, $500
OBO. Well heck, that's two passes away, and we've got 15 inches on the
ground here in town. Does anyone here have any idea what a V200 is? What it
would cost to get a steering box? Any other useful information would be
appreciated.

Almost certainly a misprint. It's most likely a Jeep Gladiator J-200 series
pickup.

Yep, the Gladiator series carried several monikers over it's production run.
Early trucks were J-100, J-200, etc. In the early 70's they went to the
1000s, J-2000, J-4000. Finally in the 80's they switched to the 10's J-10,
J-20, etc. I don't know the specific years that each change was made, they
may have coincided with the changes from Willys to Kaiser to AMC.

That's exactly why I turned to the group. You are probably right on with
that J-200. Since there is no phone listed I might ride up there New Years
day and see if I can't spot it.
Tanks, a bunch.
