Hi,

The rear flex hose (breaking system) needs to be replaced on my 2002 Liberty. My mechanic was stumped by the price: 594$. He called left and right and the only answer he got is that this part is a special order and must come from the dealer. Come on, the front braking lines cost about 25 bucks, are the rear ones made with gold or what?

Any suggestion?

imposible does it look like this AHH I can't seem to send a photo just e-mail me dlaplantesales@tlb.sympatico.ca and I will send you photo, I can get it for around 40$ US if its the same part, 600 $ for a rubber hose that is a joke,,,

 

Please let us know what happened replacing the rear brake line with a photo if possible.
I certainly hope that a reasonable replacement part was found.

I will try I didn't see this hose first hand, and my suplyer is good sometimes is off a bit and the 500 $ difference it is well worth the time and effort I just hope I can help, But I never worked on a liberty to this date so I will keep everyone informed if anyone needs something let me know I would be very happy to help if I can

Hi guys, my mechanic says it's a total rip-off. So he'll order a hose for a 2001 Wrangler, and see how if fits. Will keep you posted on that.

Just for curiosity, what caused this brake hose to need replacement? I noticed you are from Quebec, the winter frozen land, was it Salt corrosion or?

I know some have purchased brake line kits from jeepinbyal.com for their liberties. Also, search the forum on lostkjs.com for brake line replacements.

 

damn thats crazy for brake lines . i had both my rear lines front to back done for $200

But 30 minutes after I put my order, I got a phone call telling me that my order had been cancelled because this part is back-order for months! So they offered to put my name on a waiting list *sigh*

My mechanic ordered one for a 2001 Wrangler and he's pretty sure it's gonna fit. Otherwise, I'll have to try ICARL's suggestion: Jeep Liberty KJ Products, Specializing in upper control arms for Jeep Libertys
