noisy shifting from 1st to 2nd at low speed
Recently i experienced a clunking sound coming from the rear differential of my 2007 Liberty.
It happened at low speed in traffic while accelerating and suddenly letting off the accelerator. I'm thinking it is because of the release of torque as I let go of the accelerator (at the same time as the transmission was shifting into 2nd gear). Has anyone had the same experience? Aside from this the transmission shifts seamlessly at all speeds. Your thoughts are appreciated. (2007 Liberty Sport 115000km Stock) |
Re: noisy shifting from 1st to 2nd at low speed
Your 07 should still have a power train warranty. Limited slip was not available after 05 so an open diff should not have a clunking noise. My thought is that it could be drive-shaft u joint or the transmission hesitation power up to the shaft. Take it to the dealer and let them inspect it.
Has it only done this once? |

Power train warranty ends at 100k
It happened only once so I'm certain it was because of the driving conditions. Thanks for the reply. |
