No heat to lower vent

No heat to lower vent
I have a 2011 Liberty sport and the heater works great except to my lower vent. Results in very cold legs and feet well my upper body is toasty fine. I've worked the heat positioner dial in all directions and I don't get any blowing air hot or cold. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue and what they have done to repair it. Currently -40 C in Alberta.

When u go from floor vent to defrost do u hear a sound like a door opening or closing? If not them ur floor vent flapper is not opening.
It could be the spring is broken or the flapper jumped its track. Try what I said and if not come back again . I don't own or ever owned
a Liberty but this could be ur problem

Thank-you for your reply Mr White. I have done some further investigation as you described and I can't hear a door opening or closing when lower heat is selected. in my investigation I also found it weird the way the selector works. I have six selector positions which I'll try to discribe below including my findings.
Sector position
Off - when turned to off the air blows through the defrost vents.
Mid - when turned to Mid area heat I get both Mid heat and defrost
Lower\Mid - when turned to Lower\Mid positions air blows through mid and defrost and nothing to lower.
* the next selection is for Lower but what's weird is there seems to be to selection position, one between Mid and Lower and one at the Lower symbol
Lower - when turned between Lower\Mid and Lower air blows to Mid and defrost. When turned to the Lower symbol are blows to defrost only.
Defrost and Lower - again there seems to be two position one between Lower and Defrost\Lower and one at the symbol for Defrost \Lower either selection results in defrost only.
Defrost - again two position one between Defrost\Lower and Defrost and one at Defrost symbol. either section results in defrost only.
As you can see there is something very weird going on here. I'm starting to think it's my selector switch versus just one door opening or closing. My thought is to take it to a local repair shop that specializes in Jeeps and get their thoughts.
