Jeep Liberty CRD Lighting problem

Hello, It is my first time on these boards. I'm actually helping out my father with his Jeep Liberty 2006 CRD on a problem he is having.

We noticed a few days ago that the driver side rear driving light was burnt out. So we went outand change the bulb thinking that was the problem. When we removed the cover we figured out the problem might be deeper since the brake and driving lights are on the same bulb. The brake light works fine.

I removed the socket connector on the back of the light cover and tested all wires. Flasher, brake, rev, all gave me 12v.. but nothing from the driving lights. Fuses are not blown wire looks ok. The passenger side is all ok.

The only thing I have noticed extra is the side marker on the passenger side is not working. I dont actually think the are related problems, but you never know these days.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any insight on this or has incounter something similiar in the past. Perphaos someone has an electrical wiring diagram for the liberty to help me out. I really dont want to send this to the dealer

Thx

Mat

Re: Jeep Liberty CRD Lighting problem

You describe rear driving light, you mean the brake/running light. This is a dual filament light bulb. One filament is for the brake, the other filament is for running light. If your brake light works then it could be the other filament in the bulb. Change another bulb in and keep in mind that the only time your second filament illuminates is when your lights are on.
