Jeep Liberty Armor! Yeah!

Sorry, just had to  about finally ordering the following items:

82210769 Front/Engine Skid Plate

82209455 Transfer Case

82210003 Transmission

82206124 Front Tow hooks

The numbers are the Mopar numbers for my Jeep 2005 Liberty. I would prefer not order the Mopar gas tank as some reviews seem to say it flexes. If anyone has the OEM gas tank slip plate please let me know if it is alright for offroading.
I got the OEM's as it was a lot cheaper to get this from a local dealer then to have OEM or specialty versions shipped to Ontario Canada.
I am thinking though to save up for next year and grab a skid row or whatever else anyone in this Forum may advise :smilie_auslachen:

Re: Jeep Liberty Armor! Yeah!

My KJ Rocky Mountain came with full set of skids, and am quite pleased with them. No they are not the absolute best /thickest but offer reasonable protection. Obviously if you are doing serious off roading, a good Frankenlift and larger tires gives the kind of clearance needed in the rocky, rough, terrain.
A good set of rock rails helps as well. The gas tank skid seems fairly sturdy, and adds much needed protection for the woods. I think you will be happy with the OEM skids.

Re: Jeep Liberty Armor! Yeah!

Thanks LibertyTC! I went ahead and bought the OEM/Mopar Gas Skid Plate. Will be installing it soon as I went offroading through a few trails opened up by loggers and learned real fast that armor underneath is not optional. Love that 4x4 Low gear!
Your point about the lift got me to do a lot of research! Between spacers and springs and or shocks I learned quite a bit in this forum and many other KJ forums. The 2.5" lift is way too much as this is my DD as well, and would put the jeep out of many friends/family reach (literally). So I am thinking the Old Man EMU springs and struts (light > front, medium > back) to gain a 1" or 1.5" comfortable lift. These parts are similar to those in the FrankenLift kit that you mentioned. Thanks again for pointing this out and your advice/experience with the Gas Tank Plate. It makes a big difference hearing this from others who off road.

I think you won't do any better than here for OME:

That being said I would also consider with the lift:

As that will give better angles, much storonger and also include replaceable Moog Ball joint.
Then you will be better off and will be up to speed after you complete the front wheel alignment.

Re: Jeep Liberty Armor! Yeah!

LMAO LibertyTC your killlin' me! AKA - too many great ideas!

Well - it was a great experience installing my own armor. Loved it and got some cool tools out of it. Ended up needing to use plumbing pipe 4 feet long to undo-then-tighten the bolts holding the gas tank & hitch!

I didn't think having the old man emu 1.5 inch lift (springs & shocks) would need the A Arms -> but then you are only recommending them. To be honest the seem like a great idea along with the grease-able Moog ball joints.....

Oh well. OME 1.5 inch and rocker bars will be my goals most likely for next year (or whenever I can fit them in).

You've been a great help! Have a fantastic long weekend!
