the wrangler floor leak
I think they finally fixed my wrangler leak, after both door seals were replaced with a different type of seal my floors are dry.
Its been a few weeks now and all is good. But the leak guy said the seals were something new a different design |

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Woody, I had the same problem last year...They changed every see possible, even under the cowling(where the wipers are),,,nothing worked. Then at the end of summer he thought he would try changing the seals around the roof(3 piece hard top). He changed all the seals on there, both the two front removable pieces and the rear piece. I didnt notice any leaking near the end of the summer, mind you it was right near the end and we didnt get much rain.
We've had a couple down pours here the last couple weeks and my floor has been dry! So im thinking thats what did it. Maybe you can suggest that? That is if you have the hard top on? Anyway, hope this can help ya. Chris |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
i can ask about that except you can see the water marks on the door threshold ,so its coming down the door seals and spills in at the bottom ,will post photo

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Hi i'm new to the jeep forum since i got my brand new 2011 jeep wrangler sahara 4door on april 9th... And we got crazy rain yesterday and the floor on the passenger side is drenched in water... Driver side is dry as a bone even with me using the jeep during the rain... So I guess i'll take it in to get it checked... Hardtop is on right now and I did not touch it yet since the jeep is less than 5 days old.

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Well just got back from the dealership and the seal guy took 30secs to find the leak... Turns out ''hopefully the only source'' was missing scelent behind the door panel so he took that off put the scelent on, vacumed up the water that was left in the jeep and carpets and i was on my way... So waiting for next downpour to see if it was the only source! :P

Re: the wrangler floor leak
don't wait for it to rain, grab your garden hose and water that sucker down,it's better if you find out if it leaks sooner than later.
On another note,My TJ leaked around the door seals,so I tore out all my carpets and removed the plugs in the floor and I just live with it.Mind you I don't realyy care as I go through some serious water just for the fun of it :)..that's just me lol. |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
Well They're giving for rain soon... and i'll wait till the carpets a dryer so if there are more subtle leaks it will show more when i bring it back for more repair... if i need too (fingers crossed and multi crossed)

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Hi Bruno, don't know if you did this or not but get someone to sit inside while you hose it down good and see if you can pinpoint exactly where its coming in instead of waiting for it to rain.

Re: the wrangler floor leak
thats what we did today at the dealership! i sat inside and looked for the leaks! i'll do that maybe tomorow too at home but the forecast is calling for rain all day lol so i might go sit in the rain for while and see tomorow lol

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Why not I think you have min 10 days or is a couple of weeks in Quebec the law about a return and full purchase price without any questions. We have some weird laws here and some are really good for the consumer. Try consumer protection bureau of Quebec at 1 888 672-2556 or their website http://www.bbb-bec.com/main.cfm?p=282&l=en it is in french if your more comfortable in that language. Call them ask a few questions and see where yu stand, its worth a try rather then getting screwed over by some dealership that sold you a infearer product.

Re: the wrangler floor leak
you don't get new vehicles even when thay cannot fix it ,what they do is have you come back time after time unitl you get tired of complaining and not return ,then its fixed on there part.
Thats called continued dealer service |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
I can assure you if I had problems my dealer would be fixing it. Im not the type of person to go away. I just spent $35000.00 + . If I have issues they WILL be resolved. LOL
My dealer is actually very good. My GF bought her car there so I knew what they were like before I bought mine. I have dealt with dealers that didn't really care about the customer anymore after they had purchased. Hopefully new roof seals will correct the issue. |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
another dealer appointment today but they claim its fixed ,the manufacturer finally has admitted to the jeap water leak and its a design flaw.
There have been 12 jeeps in this are now modified and the leak tech says its done . This was my fourth trip to the dealer 1 hour away--hope he's right but i am wearing down in the disappointed feeling . But i do admit from the last go of new door seals the leak was not as bad |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
Well it looks like I have a leak on the passenger side floor. It's hard to tell where its originating from. The water appears to be comming from under the trim on the floor?? It goes to the dealer tomorrow. I hope they fix it on the first try.
Wishfull thinking???? 1000km |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
it took 4 tries to get mine fixed ,they know its problem

Re: the wrangler floor leak
Hey Woodman,
Do you have a part # they used? Is it on the repair invoice? I thought that might help my dealer. Thanks in advance Trevor |
Re: the wrangler floor leak
there is no invoice when its warranty ,just a friendly wave and hope not to see you again.
Its hanover chysler ---hanover ont --they ahve a leak specialist It was 2 new door seals new design and then custom cut with a notch to stop the water drooling down the door channel out on the floor at the bottom but it has worked so far mine leaked only in the driveway sitting |
