lifts for my new jeep 2013 Sport Unlimited
Hi everyone,
I am a new Jeep owner - just bought a 2013 Sport Unlimited. I am wondering about types of lifts and tire size to put on my Jeep. I am wanting to offroad with it and eventually take it to Arizona for some rock crawling as well.
I look forward to any advice I can get from this group!!
Thanks,
Al

Sweet! Congrats on your new toy :) There is so many choices out there. I suggest you save your money and do it once but for good. There is a lot of things to consider. I am no professional but this is how I think...
1 - What tire size do you want? 35s, 37s, 38s, 40s!!! lol Are you still gonna drive it on the pavement most of the time. Once you decide your tire size, you know how much of a lift you need to at least fit the rubbers.
2 - You have a JKU Sport but what gears? I hope you got 3.73. If so, you should be ok going 35s cause the new engine has a lot of power. If you have 3.21, then consider switching to preserve power especially with bigger tires.
3 - For your lift, over 2.5 inch, you will need to correct some geometry issues. A complete suspension kit with control arms will do so. More expensive but IMO worth it if you plan to rock crawl.
4 - I did a bit of rock crawling without a lift yet. Got hung up a couple of times but I have skid plates to protect my rig. Definitely a good investment!
Happy wheeling and spending my friend!
