I don't think she go that low, but the mounting plate arrived yesterday, and it appears I have failed to take into account how heavy it is. 55lbs!!! Over half the weight of the winch itself. It's built like it was intended for a duce and half Army truck. Figure this weight will take it down another 1/4" based the fact that's what I lost with 60lbs stacked on the bumper. That puts me at 20 and 3/4 inches. Did this (with pics) for a guy on another forum who is in the process of also doing this mod. He's mounting a 9500 Warn, spec in at 65 lbs. Can't wait to get started, but Spring (yesterday) is over, it's gone from 55F above to 16F and trying to snow!!!! lolNOT!

Re: Winch mount on stock bumper
We are a Rough Country dealer and I have sold many of the JK winch mounts, both for the original bumper and the hybrid stubby and they are very well built. Price/quality ratio is excellent.

Hey PJF4X4, always nice to have another contact for parts, as you can see from the photo's, I've already obtained the Rough Country mount, but I've bookmarked your website (under construction) for
future reference should I need any other RC products. topbanana  |

Well the parts all came together last weekend and the winch mounting plate and winch were insalled.
Monday the wiring was hooked up and Tuesday the Sahara trim Plasti-coated and new plastic "buttons" were purchased from the stealership to reinstall the belly air deflector pan. Wednesday half of the front end was re-disassembled because I needed a 1/4 of an inch more to slide the trim piece under the winch mount - d**m!! topbanana:confused: |
