water under the driver's mat
I was quite surprised the other day that the floor under the driver's stock removable mat was damp.(towards the plastic button that holds the mat )(and the mat is not really wet)
I checked around thinking that the roof might be leaking but then the seat or dash would be wet. I don't know where this came from ,posible the firewall ,the area between the motor and inside as i was driving . Its a 2010 wrangler sport with 2460 km ---anyone else had this strange thing happen |
Re: water under the driver's mat
Comes from behind the dash and leaks down onto the floor. easily fixed by pulling out the carpet and bed lining the interior. lol

Re: water under the driver's mat
Coming from under the dash i can understand but i did not follow your fix,if i rip up the flooring carpet then what?
Not sure what you meant by the liner replacement Also would this warrant a warranty call ?or are they going to say all jeeps leak ,like my rusty windshield bolts they said when i picked up the jeep ---jeeps rust that it. Its got 2490 km 2010 wrangler sport |
Re: water under the driver's mat
Ok well if they said Jeeps rust well they're full of ****. Its because they mixed Aluminum and steel on the hinges and it causes it to corrode. That is warranty and I know that for a fact.
Same thing for the leak, it should be warrantied. My fix is for if you wheel and it was really only a joke. First thing I do when I buy a jeep is rip out the carpet and use truck bed liner on the interior so it wont rust or mold. However its not ideal if you dont wheel and frankly if you dont wheel I wouldnt recommend it at all Short answer though is both are warranty work. Where are you in ontario? I know quite a few good dealers you can use that will cover that garbage. |
Re: water under the driver's mat
Now I am wondering if the rain was coming off the roof where it sits on the windshield frame drip or drooling down and hitting close to the inside and eventually sitting on the floor.
The forgot to put a small roof gutter to deflect the water away instead its round right there and pours in |
dealership reponse
I took the wrangler into the dealership, under the driver mat was still wet but they could not get it to leak even though giving the jeep front a bath.
They could not do anything ,but in 2 weeks if its still leaking they are going to replace the driver door seal,i felt it was the firewall area but they pressure washed the front no leakAt least now it is documented and if the mat rots they will replace it. They said the jeep flooring is tough and tough to rot, designed for the odd top down rain |

Re: dealership reponse
I noticed water in the back of mine. Turns out that the rear window washer hose pulled off the nib, where it can be disconnected for using the soft top. It's just a straight pressure fit - no barbs or clamp.

Re: water under the driver's mat
Dealership hosed it down but no water ,they said to give i 2 weeks and if it leaks again they will re-do the driver door seal. They said they cannot act first time unless its obvious. So that fair its documented.
At least they did not give me the jeep answer--all jeeps leak so yours is no ,i'm getting that with other small items. This was a different dealership |
Re: water under the driver's mat
I am still getting a wet area under the (i have rubber mats) drivers side mat.
Its right near the original button to hold the mat in place. The dealership is going to look at it again as the first time they hosed it down and there was no leak. After that time it felt a bit damp and i thought it was my imagination felt damp ,well today we had a downpour and its real wet. Anyone having this |
Re: water under the driver's mat
Are your drain plugs in place?some forums mention that the water may be coming from underneath when driving through water and splashing up through the drain pugs, Hope this helps.

Re: water under the driver's mat
well i wish ,the leaks i am getting is when the vehicle sits in the drive way in a hard rain.
Its just i would like to find where its coming in as the dealership is talking about replacing the door seal, and i just feel this is going to be one of those "lets replace one seal at a time and they are about 3/4 hr away from me and it going to take many trips" I would like to see it get fixed first crack |

water leak
Mine leaks when sitting in the driveway so i feel its something in the firewall then it drips down to where its flat and puddles.
Its such a small area so its hard to see up under the dash also i had A/C put in so maybe its where it comes through. I have another appointment to have it looked at |
