trailer hitch
Hello all,
New to the forum, just picked up a 2010 wrangler moutain edition, 2 door, rescue dreen 2 weeks ago. I have a question in regards to getting a trailer hitch. I have a storage basket that will fit on the trailer hitch. I am wondering if anyone out there has used one of these units. And if a stock jeep will be able to handle the basket (50 lb) and a full load on the basket? Thanks for any input/ advice. |
Re: trailer hitch
Have a 2010 2 door and pulled a two up quad trailer with two 500 Lbs machines this summer and had no trouble. It's a standard that does male some difference.

Re: trailer hitch
Just watched a video with a guy and his JK with a Hitch basket with a dressed Buck tied into it. Also the hitch (if the factory one) that I have is rated for 350lb tongue weight and 3500lb pulling weight. (Class II)
The 2 door sport S is only equipped (option) with a class I hitch so that would be 200lb tongue and 2000lb towing. It would appear that 2 doors are class I factory installed and Unlimited's are ClassII info: http://www.jeep.com/en/towing_payload/2011/ |
