Default Thump noise

As I'm driving over small bumps I hear a thump noise from the back trunk area of the jeep. It's really annoying. Any thoughts? Anyone experience this?
Thanks

Uhhh.. maybe your junk in your trunk is moving around? Take everything out of your trunk (including your jack and equipment) make sure you don't have anything in your trunk, and drive around see if it still does it.

ben,

I agree with zac, often there are times when we hear a thump or anything of that nature from the rear of the vehicle and mistakenly assume there is an issue with our vehicles.
Clear everything out and go from there.
If the noise is still present, make sure your get your Jeep in to your dealer and take the Service Manager or Shop Foreman for a test drive. They are best able to help find and resolve your concern.

If you need any help, let me know via PM and I can investigate with your dealer.

What size tires are you running, oversize tires on stock tire carriers can make that sound on the tail gate and cause broken spot welds in the gate. and make sure the spare in on tight.

Thanks for the advice guys. But did all the suggestions and its still there. Spent and hr under it today and sprayed WD 40 on all bushings and nothing. It sounds all most like a stabilizer link that's starting to go.
I have the stock wheels and rims on, and the spare is tight. I grab it and shake it and its fine.
One thing I noticed, I hit the rear bumper and it shakes a little making a vibrating noise but not the noise I'm talking about. Weird man! But best to go to the dealer I think. Any other suggestions keep them coming!

So think I fixed it. After reading on other sites, they had mentioned moving the rear gate striker. So I moved it a little forward so the door closes tighter, and that fixed the problem. Saved a trip to the dealer, cause I hate going there. Anyways problem solved!

I think moving the striker forward made sense ben. I would take a look and make sure all your gaps are still OK, so the paint isn't rubbing.

If there's anything else, let me know.

Have a good weekend!

I have a same issue, its feels like coming from hard top where it touches the steel frame of the body, but also it could be the door as well.

so far only solution is to have someone sit in the trunk and go for a ride and pinpoint where it comes from. I asked my wife but got funny reply.

And you think asking people on the internet to come ride in your trunk would get a better response?
