Default Smoking deal on tires, now need wheels

Work just put a promo on for employees.. Nitto tires 50% off branch cost, so i scooped up a set of 315/70/17 Trail Grapplers. Even though i didnt even order my lift in yet i had to pick it up, even if im another 6 months deciding on lift i dont care LOL
So now i need to decide on a wheel, something plain, black. Nothing i care about beating up. Most of the stuff at work is custom stuff and a little more expensive then im willing to spend, so im open to suggestions.

Anyways mostly just wanted to gloat about my deal. Carry on :D

I'd look into offset rims in steel - steel is always good if u damage a rim it normally can be banged back to original size. National4wd has some pro comp on sale right now, give them a call toll free line. You might find what your looking for at Just Jeeps too there in Toronto (Sponsor on this site) don't forget to mention your a member here.. shop around.. but go steel...

I agree 100%. That is what i had in mind originally was a Pro Comp or Mickey Thompson plain black wheel, if i slam it off a rock or stump i dont want to be broken hearted kind of thing.
Your opinion on size, 17x8 / 17x9? From what i read between 3.5" and 4.5" offset would be ideal. Im going with the BDS 3" lift.
I will check those sites out for sure, appreciate the feedback my man!

Damn I need a deal like that.

Do they make them in both 315/70/17 and 35x12.5x17?

Strange. Wonder why they would make two sizes that are basicly the same.

You'll love the tires. I'm hoping to upgrade mine from 35-37

Not sure!
Im nervous to see how drained the 3.8 is going to feel but oh well, gotta do it!
Havent heard too much bad about them, at the price it was hard to pass up anyways.

The powerloss isn't that bad. I'm running a 4.5" lift and those tires. It only really sucks going up hills.
If you can get winter tires as well. These suck on ice.

On a side note next time your in e-town hit me up. You can drive mine and see.

I say go with alloy wheels if you have to run them in the winter. Alloys are tougher then you think, and most offroad tires have a rim protector. My son is in Slave Lake, we put 35x12.50x17 Pitbull Rockers on Alloys on his RAM and they are awesome in the snow. Alloy wheels will winter better, they don't rust and the paint doesn't peel..
You will need 4.5 backspace at least to clear and you will also have to trim your front airdam (or remove it).
If you haven't picked up a lift kit yet I suggest the Teraflex kit. it is a more complete kit then BDS..

So ive decided on lift after reading every review i could find.
Going to go with the Rock Krawler 2.5" Max Travel kit, Bilstein shocks.

the only grey area i need cleared up for me is if i need to weld the rear track bar bracket or not.
