I did have; took it off and sold it. The thing makes power, but the stock tranny won't hold up to it. I went with a Hemi swap.

Thats good to know cause I was pretty close with making a serious investment with RIPP. Was it not worth it to change out the tranny?

I went with the Jeep Speed Shop hemi swap, costs right around the 7k mark (swap kit with low milage used engine/ trans they provide.) if you do the install your self. They use the truck Hemi and tranny. I use the computer they sent with the kit. Works well spins my 37's with 4.10's.

7k !! Holy, I was mislead. I was under the impression it would cost around 20k. But makes sence with used parts right.

Look up Jeep Speed shop. The engine/tranny I used had 8900 miles on it. Great kit great support and it works as well as the other kits I have driven. It's not as powerful as a SRT engine but it is way cheaper. I get 17l per 100km in town and 11l/100km on the hiway just cruising the speed limit. almost the same as the 3.8l in my other JK.

Really the super charger is 5-7k and you are putting it on a used engine-one that was never designed for boost. The tranny on the JK auto or STD was never designed for the Tourque of a boosted 3.8. If you have to cut the boost down to keep the tranny alive then; "What's the point of spending th 5-7k?????" The Hemi with trans will run in a lifted JK for a very long time. The JK will never match a 1/2ton with a trailer for weight. V-8 is the only way to go. Besides with the right exhaust it sounds very Bad A$$ and scares the little cute-utes outta your way.

This is why it takes me forever to make decisions with my Jeep. thanks for the guidance bud. At the moment I'm contemplating driving down to California to get the guys at Offroad Evolution to install a front and rear Double Throw Down kit. 5000km plus AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH lol.. I'm tryin to find out if they'll cut me a deal and hook me up with a hotel for driving all the way.. i'll keep ya posted. PS.. yes I'm lookn for a racing style suspesion. not to sure if i wanna go get a hardcore set up from ORE or just get the Teraflex LCG prerunner kit... depends.

Well i've met Mel from Offroad Evolution In Wilmington NC... He was down setting up a shop Low Range 4x4 as an official Offroad Evolution Distributor and Certified Installer... and its literally half the distance than to California (and keeps it East Coast!)

although at the same point, might as well make an experience out of it and head to Fullerton and get the EVO crew to install it...

and they can ship out the double throwdown kit if need be... its just finding a shop you trust to install it properly...
