Price on new JWSU 2012

Hello, Jeep Community

I am leaving in Toronto and planning to by Sahara unlimited 2012 pretty much soon
with the most nice options (3.73, A/C, Nav, Dual h/t, antisleep )
I would appreciate if somebody give me some idea what is good price for the car
at least price range before tax and what dealership fees are reasonable
I visited on dealer but he calculated just fees about 5000$ (not including taxes)
This looks to me a little bit pricy

Maybe some good dealership you can advise

Thanks in advance

Go visit Chevalier Chrysler in Aurora. Talk to Kwan Mak. It is a bit off from Toronto but they are good guys. In fact, call him up and ask him a bunch of questions first before you go. Let him know that I introduced you to him. I know Kwan quite well.

Canadian JK - MSRP and dealer invoice prices

check out the Canadian MSRP pricing here on a competitor's forum (basically this is for the US Jeep people, but it does list the Canadian prices also...

http://www.jk-forum.com

Search for "2012 Wrangler information thread" (posted by 'Milous')

It was last updated in October, and I think the pricing is the same still...

They have posted the CANADIAN MSRP and the DEALER INVOICE prices for models and options (below the US prices) scroll to the bottom of the list. Also, listed are the prices for the OPTIONS...(invoice and MSRP)...you can usually bargain with those - start with the dealer INVOICE price, as there is a decent margin there...

I used the dealer INVOICE prices when I ordered my 2012 Wrangler Sahara (2-door)...as a starting point...

By the way, Raceway Chrysler/Jeep/Fiat (Rexdale-Toronto) is where I ordered mine from...very friendly people and willing to bargain (I'm a hard bargainer!!!)...

I dealt with Doris DiGiulio...she knows her Jeeps and was very patient with me!!

By the way, that information thread lists the Canadian dealer INVOICE for the 2012 Sahara Unlimited as $29,047.00 plus $1,400.00 destination (Canadian dollars)...You could start your bargaining there...

cheers,

Saharaguy Toronto

Hi Saharaguy,

Thank you your for your advice and notes
I found invoice price for the car and options but after tax they still add another 5000$ for different fees
So I think how much room I have to reduce those fees

Re: Price on new JWSU 2012

There are certain fess that the dealer cannot avoid. e.g. freight, registration, license, OMIV??, air tax, tire tax, etc. They add up and be close to within $2000 with tax in. But without knowing the details, I don't know where the other $3000 comes from as you mentioned.

I don't know. I always think that shopping for a car is a fun thing. All I can say is that go into a dealer, talk to them, take a test drive, compare quotes. Don't be afraid to walk away if the price does not sound right to you.

Agree with dennislai, certain fees you can't avoid, but an extra $3K that seems extreme. Every dealer is different, but I would certainly ask for an explaination of what that $5k is.

At our dealer, there were options over and above the vehicle, paying for life time oil changes at 12.95, which also included an insurance top up of $4k if the vehicle was written off, and insurance only covered the book value. Then there is extended warranties, to make everything bumper to bumper for 5 or 6 years, then there is paint protection, rust proofing, scotchguarding. It can certainly add up. But you should have the right to refuse all of these.

Re: Price on new JWSU 2012

Yes there's a 3k difference.

Dealer pointed out that I had to pay for
a) Registration (registration of the Etching)
b) Etching on Parts
c) Preping the Etching

So I pointed out to the dealer that:
a) I do not want the etching
b) No need to pay for the preping of the etching
c) No need to pay for the registration of the etching

There was something else embedded in the $3k that I can't recall, but it was all these other charges. I ended up not paying for the $3K, BUT my Jeep has etching on some of the parts...lol!
