Re: New wheels and tires

very nice indeed :)

Im going to have to start researching wheels. I'd like to get some good AT tires that look badass... while not requiring any sort of lift

JTPhoto JK, would your tires & rims fit on a stock JKU? :)

The rims will fit but those are 35's so you would need a lift. You can go with 33" if your rims have enough backspace (4.5" or less).

Hey JK, who did you buy your rims through? I see you're also in Ontario :)

I think I may go with these, with some duratracs on em.

Rims and tires came from Marcus at River City Offroad in Texas.. Best prices I could find..

Yup its pretty sad when I can save well over $1000 on a set of tires and rims coming from that far away.
I ordered 5 sets of tires and rims (that's 15 35" Pitbull tires and 15 - 17" wheels) and the shipping only cost me $200 to the local border store. Thats Texas to Minnesota. I tried to order 4 rims from BC for my wife's minivan and they wanted $154 to ship from BC to Ontario..
The tire shops in Canada can't/won't compete so they don't get my money. As much as I would like to buy Canadian, that is just to much difference in cost for me to swallow..

35x12.50x17 Pitbull Rocker Radials $360ea (in Canada $500 ea)
17x8 Blackrock Vipers $136ea (in Canada $245 ea)

Re: New wheels and tires

I just fired them an email asking for a quote for the five rims and tires sent to Ottawa. I can get the rims here for $189.99 + $15 freight each, which didnt seem to bad, but we'll see what they say.

Re: New wheels and tires

Thats not bad. Is that from a local distributor in Ottawa? I can get other parts at a decent price from Nation Tire and 4x4 but tires and wheels, not.
If you are just ordering a set of wheels RCO usually has free shipping within the continental US..

Re: New wheels and tires

Ah, i asked for a quote to Ottawa, I guess I should have asked about NY, i could drive and pick them up at the ups store there. I'm 40 minutes from the border.

Re: New wheels and tires

Definitely do that.. Sometimes you get hit with brokerage fees if its delivered into Canada..
