new jeep owner..problem already

Hey all, just bought my 2013Jeep wrangler sahara a day and half ago.. freakin love it but.... went for a very light off road drive and the esc and abs light come on... I did have it in four wheel drive and we had just gone up a hill not that extreme... and was driving along a flat part of the trail and the lights came on and did not go away.. yes the tires may have slipped a bit as there was some loose shale but they did not spin.. took it to dealer as it is brandnew.. they said all wheels except one were doin 13 kmh and one was doin 1kmh.... so they cleared the code lights went out... I picked it up from them after they washed it and all.. driving home.. lights come on again..... so just curious if anyone else has had this prob... is there sumthin I should demand from dealer that they change?? or just any info that may help... Change out the speed senors?

despite this... this is my first jeep and I absolutely love everything about it.. just got my soft top installed yesterday and just cant decide what way it looks better..hahaha anyway thanks all

curious..

ABS and ESC Lights are on!!

Found this forum thread, it could be caused by an ABS wire? Is your wheel straight while your going down the road? I know sometimes lifts can't knock off the steering, possible if it's not steering straight the ABS or other electrical systems could kick on.

Sorry... forgot to mention.. no i didnt put a lift in yet... i had only owned the jeep for a day and a half..

If it was me, with a new vehicle I would take it back immediately the light came on and keep doing it until they got fed up with looking at my increasingly angry face.

there is not much reports about the 2013, pretty much one of the most reliable, must be just a minor thing, I would give them another chance, lol !

I think they look better with the soft top, that's my picture of a Jeep. The hard top is really just for us living up north, for winter use, so much more conveninent with the defrost, wiper and not going through a plastic window trying to remove ice. Reminds me about the old Bronco's.

I really like the soft top and will be sad in automn doing the swap.

I like the idea of the soft top and just had it installed by dealer.. who insisted they do it to show me how it is done.. (by the way took 5 salesmen to figure it out) I went to the parts guy who has a jeep and he and I finished it up... anyway.. with the painted hard roof I think it looks better... but I live in bc where it is like a desert so that soft is nice when sun is out

racerb,

Congrats on the new JEEP !
Did the dealer figure it out ?
I think you're on the right track when you mention speed sensor, I've seen similar issues and the outcome was speed sensor.
Keep us posted if you can, Cheers !

Thats why I was a little sad about giving up the hard top, but the soft top I replaced it with is supposed to be good in winter weather aswell. It's a tripple layer fabric (twill fabric) it still has plastic windows but there thicker then normal windows (apparently i don't know havn't compaired) Very excited to see how it does in the winter, I know it keeps the cold out for sure we had a few cold days and it performed well.
