Montana Road Trip

Just arrived home from a road trip to Helena Montana with a (3 and a half hour) side trip
to Idaho, to cross that one off my states visited list.
Drop south to Fort Wayne, Indiana to dodge Chicago traffic. Crossed the rest of Indiana, all of Illinois and Iowa the next day to Sioux City, Iowa. Crossed the Missouri River into
Northern Nebraska first thing in the morning and then swung north through the Badlands of South Dakota, finishing up in Rapid City. Overnighted there a couple of times so I could take the wife to Mount Rushmore, Fort Hayes, Keystone, Custer Park and then drive the Needles Highway. Next morning we baja'ed into Sturgis to get me a rally T-shirt from the Harley dealer, then we embarked on the LONG LONG haul across Montana. Man, I though crossing Georgia was time consuming. It don't hold a candle to Montana. It grass and cows on the driver's side and cows and grass on the passenger side. FOREVER!
Made Helena (the capital) late that night and visited our friends for a couple of days, tourin' the town. Next we headed off to Idaho and the Rockies, crossing the Contenental Divide via Chief Josep Pass. The way Lewis and Clarke took to discover the Pacific. Did a photo shoot and crossed back over the way we came to the interstate highway and finished the day in Billings, Montana. Next day we finished the state, North Dakota and landed in Minneapois/St.Paul to visit more friends. Had a heck of a time trying to get across the Minnesoda River, all the bridges were underwater as the river was flooding at the time 16 feet above normal. News people were predicting it to continue to rise to 24 ft! Took the wife to the Mall of America in the morning and the hit the Back to the 50's Car Show. 11,800 cars and nothing newer than 1964. Massive is the only work I can use to discribe it! Next morn we were off to the west side of Lake Michigan, over the UP to Mackinaw City for a couple of nights so I could make a side trip to the ORV trails on Drummond Island. 117 miles of them in total. Things had been pretty dry for the previous week, other than the rare puddle, you spent most of your time having your fillings rattled loose on the rocks and shale. The clouds and rain moved in the next morning so we cancelled taking a ferry ride to Mackinaw Island and interstated her home to Ontario.
I'll attach a few picks here and upload the rest to an album over the next few days.

Including the 3 hour side trip into Idaho (to cross visiting that state off my bucket list), and the day trip from Mackinaw City to Dummond Island to spend the day baja'ing the ORV trails there, we logged in 7800kms.
