Lower profile offroad tires
 

I've seen some trucks and SUVs around with larger rims and lower profile tires but still has an aggressive offroad look. I was thinking about looking into it. Does anyone have any suggestions on tire size, type, etc. And does anyone have any experience riding on these tires. I'm just riding on the BF Goodrich Mud Terrains 255/75/R17 that came with my Rubicon. Thanx A lot.

For looks, ya, I can see how some people want big wheels with low profile tires. If you ever take it off road, consider the possible rim damage, and will you want to air down for traction?
It is your rig so I think you should do what you want, but I would be surprised if there is a lot of info on how to "bling out" a Rubicon.

ok people, i tryed to stay quiet, BUT you guys are misunderstanding me... i seen a f-150 with 20 inch rims and 35 inch tires with a lift. thats what i'm talking about. its big ass tires with aggressive traction, and it looks wicked
not lambo tires. get with it!

Fair enough.
The best answer I can think of is, "Need more info. How do you primarily drive it? Would more road noise bother you? Do you prefer a hard ride or a soft one? What is your budget? Do you have or plan a lift? Would you consider a no lift 35" with cut/new fenders and extended bump stops? If you go with larger than stock tires, will you need a new tire carrier"
When you have answered those, go to a tire shop that carries the rim you want and talk about the rubber options that fit your profile needs.
Sorry, but there is no standard answer. Most info is geared to off road use, but there are a few nice looking jeeps on JK owner forums who have done what you like. good link

Got ja' dude. I've seen articles, namely in Truckin" magazine where they have featured vehicles with 20inch rims and tires. Looking at a F250 with a 4" lift and 20 X 8" wheels and 35" tires, as we speak. Does look "wicked". Have never seen a JK featured though. My biggest concern would be the added weight of those big ass rims. Every article I've read, has featured upgraded suspension and brakes to accommodate the extra rolling weight. At 35" tire is 35" outside diameter wheather it's on a 15" rim or a 22er. Myself I'd consider, something a little less expensive 'cause 20 inchers are brutal on the pocket book, especially if you smoke one on highway debis or buy to soft a compound that can't stand up to the daily asphalt grind, (not all manufacturers make tires that big). What looks good in the magazine or show hall, likely ain't dealin' with the real world. But hey that's just me whining "cause I can't get what I want, lol!
Next as Coilrod points out "you gotta fit 'em under the fender", if your facing having to put a lift kit on, your in a whole new ballgame.

Rims are black powder coated, instead of chrome, so I guess they don't qualify a "bling"
