Lift kit - what should I do?

Hey jeep friends, I am new to the jeep world and I bought a 2010 4dr Unlimited Sahara in December. It has a could mods and it is pretty sweet.

I want to put a suspension lift on it but I would welcome advice from anyone out there. How high should I go (without having to change other parts like drive shafts, etc...)? I was told I can go 4"? What brand do you recommend? Where should I buy it from? Can I install it myself? If not where in Calgary do you recommend I have it done?

How big of a tire are you planning on running? And is it a pavement queen/trail rider/crawler, like what do you plan on using it for?

I am running 33's right now but I will be going to 35's. It is my daily driver but it will see plenty off road action when I get it lifted. I am not going to be the guy that rides his jeep to say he has a jeep. Mud is a must :)

I think I just saw your Rubi on another post here. Sick jeep dude. How much did your fender flairs run you? I need a set because my tires are set out wider than the stock flares and the dirt covers the side and I cannot see out of my windows much when the roads are messy.

I didnt mean to come off as i was taking a stab at you there with the 'pavement queen' thing by the way LOL was legit asking if you just wanted a mean looking daily thats all.
Ive been researching alot lately myself trying to decide what lift/tire combo to go with on my rig. Iv got it narrowed down to the 3" BDS lift with their adjustable front track bar, and a tire size close to 34". Guys are saying the actually lift they get with it is closer to 2.5" but if i hate it i can always throw a 1/2" puck in there. I just dont want to go too nuts with tire and have to workk the 3.8L to death to make it move. Theres a silly amount of options out there thats for sure.

I run the AEV and love it. The 4.5" is over kill for 35's but I do want to go 37's. It's a great kit for a daily driver and handles great off road. As for the drive shaft issue, stay 3.5" or less and you'll be fine.

Give Stan @ Northridge 4x4 in panoka. He will lead you in the right direction

First time I did them with dupli-color bedliner. But in the photo they are powdercoated black. It holds up way better than the factory paint. :-) glad I did it.
