Hood shake
It was really windy here today and my hood (with bug deflector) really shook, especially when meeting big trucks. Has anyone ever had a hood lift? I guess it shouldn't happen with the latches done up properly, but it was enough to make me consider different latches. The Mopar locking ones are big $. Anyone tried the neoprene ones? Other suggestions?

Re: Hood shake
I did this quick, cheap and simple mod several years ago. Works great. The hood doesn't move at all now.

Re: Hood shake
I've heard if you have the bug deflector on it, it will flutter more than usual. I could be wrong.
But I've not had any issues and I do not have the bug deflector. |
Re: Hood shake
My jeeps hood fluttered at high speeds my fix was pull the spring by the latch. Sure the hood doesn't spring up when I release the side latches but I can live with it

Re: Hood shake
I also bought the mopar hood lock that keys to your ignition key .. It stopped the hood flutter .. and I like the idea of having my hood locked ..

Re: Hood shake
A couple of heavy Zip ties and done... Cheap easy fix...
Thread a tie wrap through the fastener ends and around the rubber dog bone lengthwise. Latch hood and snug up tie wrap... It will never flutter again.. http://www.jkowners.com/forum/pictur...pictureid=5128 |
