HELP!! Oil from diff? Mangled Steering Stabilizer... 2010JKUNLTD

2 Attachment(s)
There seems to be Oil leaking from the front Diff, just a slow leak notice a drop or two here and there, what could be the issue? Also my Steering stabilizer is messed haha looks like it got caught on something, now any decent bump or pothole I hit I get mad Death wobbles and in the middle of the steering like going from a left turn to right, there seems to be a spot where it is loose almost and can wander slightly, would this steering stabilizer be my main issue or has the 35' tires I put on started wearing out my steering components all around? Any info or suggestions would be great.

Wow!! Is that a master piece. I'd change the steering stabilizer first As far as leaking diff? Is it leaking around the seal (front plate) if not much I wudn't bother, just when u do oil changes check it (pull the plug stick ur finger in and bent it down u shud be able to touch the oil) don't over fill. Just noticed its a 2010 then change the stabilizer and if ur worried about the diff then take it to the dealer its warranteed for 5-7 yrs..

The way thats bent it appears you hit something. 35s don't do the damage or wear things out on their own, its where you drive it that does. There are more issues involved here then just the stabilizer..
If you have Death Wobble its time to take it in and have it checked ASAP. Every bout of DW wears/stresses more parts, wait too long and you'll need to change all front end components.
As for the leak, Mr White is correct, Just check it now and then to be sure its OK and then reseal it later sometime in nicer weather.. Good luck..

scooter,

As for the leak, like the boys said, pull the plug and check with finger bent. If you can feel it, you're ok - if not, add a bit and get it in to the dealer. Your warranty covers you for 5/100 so let's make sure you're ok.
For the stabilizer, my only suggestion is to get your JK to the dealer to make sure you don't cause any front end damage seeing as you are only covered for 3/60 for this concern.

Let me know if you need anything.

Thanks for the Info, The Steering stabilizer I dont think would be covererd under warranty anymore because I got the lift and rims and rubber elsewhere but ill double check that, if not wont be hard to fix that myself. I Think there is something more wrong than just the steering stablizer, doing a check underneath I noticed the Draglink bar and my Tie Rod seem loose when I had a friend go inside and crank the wheel back and forth while i was underneath checking things out. everything is tight tho so i dunno whats making it loose?

Scott,

The items you mention will only affect the warranty if they are the cause of the issue. That being said, before you tackle it yourself, especially if there may be other issues, get it in to the dealer to avoid any head aches down the road,

Let me know how things go.

So I just changed the Steering stabilizer myself and that seemed to help alot for the first week however these shitty roads in edmonton are absolutely giving it a beating haha, I am thinking for now getting a dual stabilizer kit and then just upgrading some of the steering components as I go to keep the wear down. Kinda on a budget right at the moment so hard to do everything at once and resolve the problem completely right at the moment haha

scooter,

Your basic warranty is over, yes, although you still have 10,000kms before your powertrain runs out which would cover your diff.
All the suspension components are out of warranty so what ever you do now is totally up to you but I would still look in to Mopar Performance Parts before going after market. At least you'll know that they are designed and engineered for your JK.

Here is the link to the Mopar Performance catalog, hope it helps. See you local dealer for for pricing and ordering.

Let me know if you end up needing anything.

I just wish MOPAR would bring there prices down, it's way to expensive for there parts. I wanted a set of rims they had and there almost double the going rate of aftermarket rims. Geeze.. I would think that they would want to be competative in the pricing point.
