Gecko Green 2012
 

Hey there,
Has anybody actually seen a gecko green 2012 wrangler? I've looked online and some of the pictures are deceiving when it comes to the paint colours. Some of the pictures I've seen it looks more lime green while others look more like a pea soup colour. I am interested in this colour, but I want to know what I'd be getting. Does anyone know which photos would be accurate?

I ordered mine last Saturday. Supposed to be here in 8 weeks. I will post a pic when it shows up. Other than the pic in the brochure I don't think a real one out in the wild exists yet.

Have looked for this colour as well and am interested in seeing what it actually looks like. You woud think that Jeep would have a true pic on their site when ordering lol. It leads you to believe it is a cool lime green. Looking forward to your pics! Which model of Wrangler did you order and options?

Would have liked a real pic but took a gamble. Hopefully it will look as good as I hope when it shows up. Wanted the half doors but never seen one of them in person either, least an Unlimited model.

Yeah, since I was ordering decided to live a bit and get half doors. They were a no cost option and I was skipping the power windows and locks anyways. I don't think the dealership had ever ordered an Unlimited with half doors before.

That's the only pic I can find online. Looking at that pic makes me wish I still had my Mountain edition....gawd I miss my 2 door!

Ok for those that are wondering how the gecko green looks like in person, IMO....it looks good. I saw 2 heading up on the DVP yesterday on a truck. Someone in the GTA will be taking delivery this weekend!

It's a fantastic colour IMHO! It's far more "limey" than I thought which is perfect for me! :)

Neither. I was going to order today but then the salesperson told me that it would take 8-12 weeks to come in (which I was perfectly fine with) but then during that time the interest rates may go up and I would likely have to then pay those rates. For some people- not a big deal but I really have a budget that I have to stick to.

So I dunno- maybe get a Jeep Patriot instead? Totally disappointed with my excursion today! :(

That's too bad, but I really can't see the interest rates going up if they are the rates posted on Jeep.ca, but I could be wrong.

Patriot is good too. It's a solid vehicle with 4WD (if you decide on the 4X4 one) at an attractive price point.

Well the salesperson warned me that they may go up a percentage or two and that would make a Wrangler just out of my comfort zone! So we'll see what happens...sad but proud that I refused to to cave on the price! ;)

My dealer told me if a put a deposit down on whatever jeep I ordered (I ordered a 2dr gecko on Wednesday) that I would be able to get the current rates even if they went up before my jeep got here, and that I would get the lower rate if they happened to go down. I hope they go down, but I don't expect them too. You should call and see if they will do the same for you. I only had to put down $1000 on a $30000 jeep. I had the cash to put the deposit down with so I didn't mind... This way I'll get exactly what I want without settling. Oh and if you are approve for financing the whole jeep you'll get your deposit back when it arrives and.your financing starts.

Still waiting on my Unlimited Sport w/half doors in Gecko. Ordered 02/11, supposed to ship from the plant by 03/28 but has not been built yet as of today. Probably not going to get it till the first week of April at the earliest.

That sucks. I think the same is happening with mine. Reallllly hope it's not the end of April or something. :(

I think once you get to D status it's too late to make a change to the order without cancelling it and starting over. What did you want to change?

Just add side airbags. I had went through the options on the site and they're not listed at all.
So I asked for a price with said options, ordered. Just seemed like something worth getting for the small cost it adds.

Not a big deal, I've never had side air bags in a previous vehicle, but why doesn't the .ca site list em?

I think the list on them is about $400. It is strange how they dont offer them on the builder on the Jeep.ca site. Course I find there are a lot of things missing on the site. I confirmed with the dealer when I ordered mine and added them. One of those options you hope to never need but nice to have if you do. The airbags are only in the front seats, probably cost prohibitive to add them after the fact. I wish the heated seats were offered on the Sports. I didn't want a Sahara and I found that was the only way to get them was unless you did the Katzkin leather upgrade. (which they have since stopped offering, it was about $1000) They are a $250 upgrade on Saharas with cloth. Shouldn't be too bad I suppose without them.

If your dealer is on the ball you should be entitled to the lowest rate ( rate when order placed and rate at time of delivery) My dealer did for me ....ordered Nov.2012 took delivery Feb. 2012

Yeah my dealer will give me whichever offer is better. The Jeep shipped and ETA at dealership is currently 4/5.

I realized I never posted an update. I got my Jeep April 12th. The order was wrong. They ordered full doors with manual windows and locks, soft top only. Apparently the sales guy failed to select the half doors when he put the final order in and missed it cause it was a no cost option. I ended up telling them either they needed to reorder or to take this one it would require a hard top as I would have ordered dual tops with full doors. After discussions with the sales manager, they ordered the hard top and wiring and I got it for free. They are going to wire up the top as well. It took about 3 weeks for the top to show up. They delivered it to my house and put it in the garage since I don't need it till fall now. Overall I am happy. I do like the door panels better in the full doors and decided maybe the plastic windows on the half doors might be a PITA in the winter time. Preferred manual windows and locks anyways. The dealer was concerned they were going to get stuck with a bright green Jeep, no power windows and locks and no hard top. It was otherwise fully loaded so they knew if I didn't take it that it would sit on their lot.
