Not sure if they are available for the JK's but I know the conversion kits for the early D30's made it a weak point. What is the reasoning for wanting manual locking hubs?

Well the only reason in a JK they would not be locked is if the there was something wrong with the front driveshaft or t-case which would mean even with manual locking hubs you would still be up poop creek.

The reason I'm asking is i don't know much about the locking systems.i've heard alot about electric lock failing and these were newer trucks.guess i just don't understand the quadralock system yet.

I know its a manual sytem because it locks by linkage but its the warning on the dash too that worries me .I've had my ford system tell me its locked and snap a hub.?

87 up Jeeps don't have locking hubs. 87-95 had a vacuum disconnect on the axle to lock the shafts together to couple the driveshaft. 97-11 don't have that. The only connect/disconnect is at the T-Case and it's mechanical by shifting the shifter into 4wd.

I assume with the ford you are talking about the late model trucks with the automatic vacuum locking hubs. I would agree this is a poor system and has proven to be quite problematic. That's why you purchase a Jeep not a Blue Oval...lol

See my old system was a Danna 44 i think in a F-150 Lariat,I had Manual locking on the front and never kept up with the new tech.I have a Honda CRV but that system is 4wd on demand.
