I'm looking at mounting a Fire Extinguisher in my 2010 Mountain Edition, but not sure how to go about this, and not sure where the best place to mount is.

Do any of you have some mounted in your jeeps?

I've seen most people mounting them on the rear roll bars...


my ZJ has one in the way back passenger side rear window, horizontal to the window (visible from outside)

 

Worst case scenario,
A fire extinguisher should be reachable by the driver,
trapped in a rolled/overturned jeep.
Just my opinion...

I was thinking something like having it on the roll bar, but just on the left or back of the driver's side.

there is a pretty good write up on JK-forum by someone who mounted it on the floor beside the drivers seat. looks good, its accessible and isnt in the way of anything. If I remember I will try to find the link for ya.

its made by Dietech and mounts to your drivers seat bracket... probably my next purchase!

 

Mine is currently just in a bin of stuff in the back cargo area. Been thinking I need a better mounting location. I like the roll bar mount, something very 70's CJ about that....recall as a kid seeing jeeps with them mounted there cool. Think I will put mine there.

I really like the seat option. Thanks for inserting the link. That is the best place to mount IMO.

 

Just make sure you mount it upright.
