ET (Elapsed Time) 07 JKUX

Just curious. This isn't very important, but does anybody know what the ET (elapsed time) on the trip computer means?
The manual says it is the accumulated ignition ON time since the last reset. However, it just seems to me to be random. While sitting in Tim's drive-through this evening it read 1:26. 8 minutes later when I arrived at work it was reading 1:47. Other times I've seen it read 76 and once 350.
I've had my JKU for 4 years now and that's the only thing I haven't been able to figure out.

I thought it was Estimated Time to run out of fuel at current operating conditions.

Nope that's definitely not it. I was at less than 1/4 tank and the ET was reading 2:14 and counting up. I drove for about 20 minutes more and by the time I got home it was 2:44. ?

Direct from the 08 Wrangler on-line manual.. http://www.scribd.com/doc/2626715/Je...-Owners-Manual

Elapsed Time (ET)
This display shows the accumulated ignition ON time since the last reset.

I guess its Like an Hour meter..
