Hi everyone thinking of buying 275/65/18 Duratrac tires only thing im not about is the E load and 10ply tire will this be a rough ride? and is this a safe tire to run 35psi? Love the look of the tires what should I do? Thanks:confused:

"E" from what I can find out is they are a little rougher ride and yes 10 ply is for sure heavy duty, I had Maxxis Big Horns b/4 very good tire little stiffer than what I have now, never had a flat. Mickey Thompson mtz now a 6ply and 3 ply side wall, little softer compound but ride is great. Here's a website u can go get a good description an detailed info http://offroaders.com/index.html You ask on psi read the side of the tire and don't go above.. that said my M/T are 33x12.5r15 mud tires I put 26psi if it goes much higher it bounces and the tire track is all off.. best to do is drive though a little water then unto dry pavement and see how the track is.

I am running 275/70R18 DuraTracs, same E rating and there was no real difference in ride and safe to run at 35, max inflation is 80psi with these. They are also quite quiet, the only time I hear any sort of road noise is with the doors off and even then they aren't loud at all. Due to the larger than stock size I did get a slight reduction in fuel economy.

I'm running the 285/75-16 Dura Tracs with the E rating on 50 psi. Really didn't notice any change in
ride quality from stock 18" Bridgestone AT's, even though tire guy warned me to expect it. Like Bashman says, quiet running even with the top down and doors off. Bigger size tamed first gear a lot, the greater weight (they're each 15 -18lbs heavier than stock, based on being mounted on Ultra 8X16 Drifter rims, I weighted each one), puts some extra strain on the motor to get things rolling but that's what the right hand petal is for!

I run 285/70/17's (33") GY Dura Tracks and they are great. No road noise to speak of. I had BFG All Terrain TA KO's on my last truck and I like these just the same. I have no problem recommending them.

With the 285 Duratracks I assume you have a lift, otherwise they would rub ?

They don't rub at all and I have no lift yet. I do plan on putting a lift (3.5 or 4") on this summer and changing out the stock fenders for some flat bushwackers.

That's interesting, the local jeep guru here told me they would rub unless I put in spacers or do a small lift.

Ah, sorry I do believe the previous owner did put spacers on. Your right.
