dome light near rear view mirror?
 

I know that there are various aftermarket 'dome lights' available...The stock JK dome has to be on the central 'speaker' roll bar, due to the problem of wiring and attaching to the windshield (which, of course, is designed to fold)...

I'd like a 'map light' near the mirror, since the one on the bar is behind my head and isn't bright enough, to my mind, anyway...

I was thinking of installing a focused LED near the mirror and running the wires across the windshield top in small, self-adhesive wire holders...and plumbing the wiring into the stock dome wire harness...

Problem is, the OEM dome is has a 'dim to off' feature...and that ain't going to work with the LED...

Any ideas?

wire it separately and run it off a toggle switch.

Why do you need more light? You can use a flashlight with a swivel head and strap it to your roll bar. One on each side maybe. I don't what will happen with the batteries in it with all the heat in the summer though...
