Changing Tops... sigh

I took soft top off and put the hardtop back on our 2011 Sahara Unlimited. Sigh! Hardtop makes me think winter and colder weather is coming. And I suppose eventually it is... which can be fun too! I'll just miss the sun and breeze through my hair. Anyway, my real purpose for the post is some info.

Earlier in the summer I tried buying a bag to store our softop windows in. Dealership ordered a bag. Arrived and I thought great. Not so. It did not fit 2011 windows for the 4-door. I went back and they apologized and then ordered the Freedom top bag. Aaargh! I expected better Product Knowledge from them. Then they told me that the 2011 parts are not out yet. Really!!!!! If they're right, when should I expect the right bag? I have looked through Mopar parts and see nothing. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a storage solution. I'm trying to avoid scratching and fogging of windows with this Jeep's soft top. I'm very open to aftermarket solutions. Anyone out there with an answer for a 2011 4 door, soft top windows storage solution?

Thanks All.

I would've thought that the Freedom top bag came with your Sahara. Mine did!

In anycase, go on to Just Jeeps website, I think they have some storage solution.

OH and btw.....regarding changing out the soft top. I did mine 2 weeks ago, and I regrete doing it. This weekend is suppose to be nice here in the T.O.!!!!

There is a window storage roll made by a company called clover patch. The great thing about it is you can use it to store your windows while you have them out in the warmer weather and keep them with you along the tailgate of the jeep.

Here is a link for more info:

I personally wouldn't recommend the clover patch for long term winter storage, I don't think keeping the soft top windows rolled up for that long would be a good idea. Just my 2 cents.

I 'd go more this route:
http://www.quadratec.com/products/91109_2000.htm
but you might get a better price local, I just used the link to show you an example.

I picked up the material myself and will make my own for storage purposes. I will fold the windows into one long microfiber cloth and then lay flat. I also have some canvas material for the outside layer for protection. I am doing it this weekend and will post pics if you like.

Hope this helps

That would be great. Where do you buy microfibre cloth?

It was given to me so I was lucky there that there was no cost. So I'm not sure what it actually cost's to determine if it's a cost effective option or not. I'm 99% sure it came from Fabricland, you can buy it by the meter. I'll put some pics up by Sunday/Monday once I've put my windows away.

Hey Quarryman,

I haven't forgotten to post pics! Last weekend I didn't get a chance to put my windows away but I will be this weekend for sure. Have you gone a head and stored your windows yet?

No I'm still looking at options.

Curious as to why you say not to winterize your windows by rolling them up. I hung on to the factory box with it's tube and "tissue paper" separators. If the factory ships them and stores them in this manner (til sold to customers) one would assume it's the way it should be done.
