Big tires, cut fenders, stubby bumpers?

Hey everyone nice to see a Canadian based forum to see what mods everyone else is doing.

I have a 2010 JK Sahara Unlimited and starting to do a few mods here and there. For the most part it will be a daily driver for my wife (mall crawler) and hunting for myself. So not much for off roading.:lame:

I am reading up on as much stuff I can to gain some knowledge and ideas etc.

But at the same time I want to know if it works in our world of winters etc.

Cut fenders? Are they popular here and how about the snow or mud flying up on the vehicle etc. And are they legal? I really like the look but we don't have the sunny weather that alot of our Southern friends have. Pro's & Con's?

33's or 35's? My heart wants to go with the 35's but I don't want to get into re-gearing etc. Sounds like it is a must if I want to go larger than a 33?

Stubby bumpers? I am talking the do it yourself cut end's mod. Not the nicest maybe but a cheap mod. Has anyone else done this? Is it popular in our neck of the woods?

Thanks for any info and comments.

I guess another question is where everyone is buying stuff. It's killer paying duty fees but the deals seem to be cheaper?

I buy from the US but pick it up in the US and bring across myself. Never have to pay duty and taxes, but if they have to deliver in Canada you do pay a brokerage fee which can be ridiculous..

Flat fenders look WAY COOL but are nasty in the winter.. Big tires and factory fenders are bad enough..
I run 35" PitBull Rockers all year round, love them in the snow... I also run factory 3.73 gears with an auto and run with the OD OFF and that works just fine for me.
I stubbied my front bumper and ran it for awhile but now have a full width steel front bumper. Long story short, won't run a stubby any longer..
With stubby factory and grille guard.

And With AEV Premium full width..

Thanks for the reply, some good info.

I already have the ends for the bumper so I will go ahead and take the sawsall to it.

Yeah I really like the flat fenders but will stick with the stock as suggested.

Do you recommend the Superchip?

Your jeep looks awesome!

Thanks again.

Thanks..
Yes I certainly recommend the Superchips.. I've been running their FlashPaq for about 3 years. It makes the Jeep even more fun to drive and as a bonus Its paid for itself in fuel savings.
