East Axle Ratio VS Tire Size?

I saw alot of threads here and there talking about specific things, i am the type of person who wants to learn everything there is to know and i need someones brain to pick but this forum will do for now.

Im really interested in axle ratios and tire size. I know that to big of a tire and to small of a ratio you won't get enough power and you'll end up stuck. So instead of increasing the engine power and breaking stuff, you change the tire size or the axles. Cool Stuff... now where is the butter zone?

My jeep will be using stock ride hide (the sport hydraulic suspension) I will eventually put a 2.5" Lift maybe 3" lift on it to get bigger tires under it and better offroad but best axle i can get from the factory is the 3.73 ratio. The rubi axle 4.10 is locked down for that model only.

So What i am trying to fnid is like a graph or something saying from X ratio to X ratio = X Size tire etc etc for the newer 2012 and 2013 wranglers with the new Penestar motor in it.

Thanks!

I found something interesting! I wonder if anyone would like to weigh in on this!

Tire & Gear Ratio Chart at Morris 4x4 Center

I think it's really cool, shows your best fuel eco and whatnot too!

Nice link, but most sport models come with 3:21 gears. However if you were doing a project tis would be a great resource.

My sport will have 3.73 gears, i paid the 95$ to get them put in. Currently being built in the factory i beleive. I already got the VIN# for it, very excited to see what she can do. I figured the 3.73 gearing would be able to give me more options when it comes to changing suspension and gearing

I find with mine I am more around the 5.13 rpm range @ 70 mph then the 4.88 range as the table says for a '12.

If I had my time back I would have done 4.56 with 35s.
