Alberta Guys, I have questions
Hey guys, I will have to get rid of my Commander in the next few months and was thinking JK. I may be moving to Calgary soonish too so I have a couple questions...
What tires are you running? Do you drive with those tires all year long? Are there any friggin trails besides mud around Calgary? Maybe stupid questions but I hit the trails 1-2 times a month and we don't have much snow here in BC so Not sure what tires to run. |
Re: Alberta Guys, I have questions
:3gears:I would suggest to run Mud Terrains cause even when its dry there is always some rocky/muddy sections on the trail and all terrains generally suck in deep snow and mud. We have a good selection of trails nearby but we've also got mud if you want it. I'm running BFG KM's on the front and KM2's on the rear, I really like the KM's but unfortunately they don't make em anymore. So far the KM2's haven't let me down. If I were to run another tire it would have to be Pro Comp MT's.

Re: Alberta Guys, I have questions
I have been looking at the KM2's. I am currently running Bridgestone Revo 2's on the Commander and they are awesome for our climate but are not snow tires.
How are the KM's on the highway? I currently drive about 900 Km's per week so highway is important |
Re: Alberta Guys, I have questions
I would have to suggest buying another set of rims to run you trail tires on, doing that many km's will quickly kill a set of MT's, they are way too expensive to have to replace all the time. The KM2's are actually a very well behaved tire on the road and are alot quieter than the original KM'S.

Re: Alberta Guys, I have questions
Run a good set of AT's for the road and save the MT's for the trail. Although I do run my MT's all year I do not come close to doing anywhere near the mileage you do. And MT's on black ice gets interesting at times but it keeps you on your toes!
