Aftermarket Shifter For 6 Speed (HURST) ?
The JK Factory Shifter for a 6 Speed Manual in my opinion is below average in comparison with other manufacturers. From what I can determine they have produced at least 400,000 units since 2007. Assuming 10% manual shift and same transmission used, 40,000 shifters potential market. I installed a HURST Shifter on my 1999 TJ and it made a world of difference (3rd gear rubber). I am not Drag Racing but it sure gives me a lot more confidence even when I am only Short Shifting. Even in normal driving it just works a lot better.
As a Speciality and or Performance Vehicle it seems odd that the After Market Industry has not Identified-Engineered-Developed-Manufactured-Retailed this Product |

I installed a B&M Short throw shifter in my TJ and I wouldn't go back.

Re: Aftermarket Shifter For 6 Speed (HURST) ?
The Hurst in my 1999 TJ works great. The Factory Shifter when new, shifted about as good as an old Farm Tractor. Hurst doesnt make a Shifter for a 1999 TJ but did for a 1998. The 1998 TJ uses the same transmission as the 1999 and all I had to do was trim out my console with a Dremel. You had to hold it in 1st gear taking off before it was fixed.
