Accident / Trade in
I have a question for any of you that have been in an accident and have then sold or traded your Jeep. Im wondering what the impact of the accident had on value? I was speaking to somone and they said since its been in an accident I would not get a great dollar for it.
So I guess what recourse do I have? Or do we just get screwed in the end and loose money.
thanks

In my experience, "great value" and "trade in" are two statements that seldomly ever end up in the same sentence.
Any "deals" you think you're getting from a dealer on the price of a new jeep, will be totally recouped by them on a low ball trade in price. It's more work, but you'll usually always come out a head in a private sale of your vehicle.

Any car that has had a accident and is reported will be on record...so if you do a trade or private sale (assuming the buyer does a car proof), you will get not get the same value that you would with a similar Jeep that never had an accident.
However, if you don't trade/sell, you don't loose any money.
I hope you're not thinking of selling because of the accident.
