2012 Wrangler Big Dent
2 Attachment(s)
Hey Gang,
I screwed up big time yesterday and backed into a pole. I feel like a big dink, as it is the first time I've ever scratched or dented a vehicle especially my Jeep. It's a 2012 Sport Unlimited. I definitely do not want to go through insurance, and don't have a huge budget to spend. I can touch up the paint and replace the light myself for sure. Anyway,my concerns are: how can I fix this? Can I do it myself with limited tools and knowledge of metal? what would be a ballpark cost at a body shop? I appreciate any and all help/direction with this. Thanks in advance, |

Re: 2012 Wrangler Big Dent
I suspect it's worse than it looks in the picture. That is the corner that is re-enforced to carry the wright of the door and tyre. If it was me I would find a reputable body shop and go talk to them, tell them it's not an insurance job, he'll give you a better price. The reason I would go that route is the required structural integrity necessary to carry the weight of the door and tyre. I've straightened out some pretty bent body work over the years but I would not tackle that, I'm not a body man just a long time mechanic.

Thanks for your replies! Much appreciated. Looks like it will be in the 1000-1500$ range for those who do the same thing...

JustJeeps (out of Toronto) and 4 Wheel Parts (6 stores across Canada) sell those corner guards. I have used both venders with no issues, both had excellent customer service.
