2011 Engine codes cracked

Just got done surfing another forum and learned they've cracked the 2011 engine codes.
DiabloSport is now shipping and Bullydog announced their model today.
Finally, I can get some performance!

I super disagree with installing ECU modifying equipment into a vehicle unless your changing the internals, you can blow your engine up if you screw it up. But more then likely will almost garentee to reduce the life of your engine if you don't replace the internals for sure.

Had I been talking about adding Nitrous or super/turbo charging, I would whole heartedly agree. In this
instance were talking about what in the old days would be "performance tuning" a carb. Fuel injection and ECU's took away all that from the "common man". You need a third party computerized tuner to do this, which is what I talking about purchasing.

Ya I understand that much, I know subaru has a huge market for it. You can flash your ECU and get better power and fuel efficiency out of it but only because it is turbo charged. You start changing the timing and fuel settings on a N/A engine your going to be running into some issues stressing the motor out.

To tune a turbo engine is really the only way to go, your increasing air flow and fuel usage. Moving the power bands around using blow off valves and waste gates. But all you can do to a N/A motor is change the fuel timing valve timing and risk detonating your engine.

You can tune any engine, whether it's NA or turboed. To say it's safe to tune a turbo but not a NA is well....not true. You can run a SC/turbo at 12 psi with stock internals (generalization)....however, if you start running 25psi you're going to get butt hurt.

Point is that there are limits to everything...and I am pretty sure the the reputable companies that sell these tuners like DiabloSport and Superchips do not exceed these safety limits.

Possible, but thats a $5,000 bet I'm not willing to take. But no matter how "safe" these may be and how tested they are, you will reduce the life of your engine period full stop. It may be over a matter of years, or over a matter of hundreds of thousands of KMs but you will shorten the life span. Even putting bigger tires on your rig will shorten the life span of your engine and transmission. Just saying I don't wanna go fiddling around with that unless it's going to be supported or my warranty is up.

Yeah i see your point....but anything can shorten the life span....but if you're uneasy about something, play it safe and just stay away.

Hey AutoJunkieMan, is that your JK in your sig?

Re: 2011 Engine codes cracked

No, it's one i found. I'm still waiting for my JK it's being built in the Ohio! Hope to get at the end of March. It won't be an expensive rubicon, I more or less went with a Sport S since I plan to change the setup of the suspension anyways no point in putting in the extra money. Once i get it up I'll definetly have pictures and make a new sig banner with it in it.
