2009 2dr Rubicon > best place to buy larger tires?
 

Hi there,

My first post here!

The world of Jeeps is a hew hobby for me. I'm coming from atv's, sledding and too much time on the computer....

I have an '09 Rubicon with the stock tires, they're decent but I want to go bigger and have a few questions:

1. Can anyone recommend a larger tire, similar tread pattern to the stock tires you get with the Rubicon. I'd rather not have much road noise ... the tires it came with are good, knobby but quiet. Any particular brand that's good?

2. Lift kit or no lift I can't decide, how large a tire can I get without adding a lift kit. Or, if I add a lift kit can anyone recommend a good mean looking off road yet quiet tire :)

3. Where is the best place to shop for tires? The Dodge/Jeep dealer where I purchased really has no clue about after market upgrades, tires to recommend etc.

I often see Wranglers with the done up with tires I like, to find a place locally that can recommend what to buy seems difficult.

Anyone live near Collingwood? Any good places to ride?

Are you going to be wheeling it? Cause recommendations on tires will change depending on what you want them for. I ran 33's Goodyear Duratracs on my stock Sahara suspension and stock wheels with only minimal rubbing on the swaybar at full turn. I would recommend those to you if you are not going to wheel hardcore, they are aggressive looking while still quiet on the highway. And they are the best snow/ ice A/T Tire you can get. They fill the wheel wells nicely on stock suspension as well. They are relatively new but people are reporting good wear with them and they are pretty good in the mud too :D Hope this helps if you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
