Towing

Hi Guys,
I bought my 2000 Granny used from private.It has a tow hitch, but how do I know if its a real tow package from the factory?
And, whats about a Brake-controller? is there allready an connection under the dash?

The only way to be sure it's a factory installation is if you can get a copy of the build sheet for the vehicle. One of the members on here got a copy for his jeep but I don't remember who it was or how he did it.
Don't know about the wiring but it's something I'd also like to know.

Hi, I found this site and put the vin in and got a list with all equipment for my jeep.There is only written: Tow Hook.Does that meen Tow-package?

No, tow hooks usually means it will have two hooks on the front and one offset on the back.

Yeah, I saw now that it should have a Class IV Towing,
And it looks like I again with the wrong Year.From 2001 it should have a connector for a brake controller.
