Rough Country lifts
Is anybody running a Rough Country 4" lift on there GC, if so any problems with the install or daily driving.

Re: Rough Country lifts
Get the adj. Track bar! It was the only problem I ran into.
I've had the lift for 2 years now, and it's great so far. |
Re: Rough Country lifts
Do you have the CV drive shaft, I'm wondering if there's a big difference between your truck and mine ( '97 )

Re: Rough Country lifts
It's a little different. Mine doesn't have the CV drive shaft. You might have to drop your TC a couple inches, but I believe the drop parts are included in the kit.

Re: Rough Country lifts
If your going to be offroading at all why would you want to raise your vehicle 2" and then lower the most important and vulnerable part 2"?
|
Re: Rough Country lifts
why do you say that I'm raising the truck 2"
|
Re: Rough Country lifts
My truck did have a CV driveshaft until it packed it in up in the mountains, I hate CV joints on anything.Your right it does come with drop brackets and I've got a decent drive shaft on order, no CV joint!

Re: Rough Country lifts
If you put a 4" lift in and then lower the T/C 2" what's the point of lifting it? The point of a lift is to get all that important stuff higher up.

Re: Rough Country lifts
What's the alternative, at least lifting it 4'' and the lowering it 2'' still gets it higher by 2". But I'm not familiar with the lift kit, do the drop brackets lower it 2"?

Re: Rough Country lifts
what he's saying is that your lifting the entire vehicle 4 Inches and lowering the lowest and most critical component the transmission 2" you can still hang up on it...
I would skip the transmission drop UNLESS you get severe driveline vibrations... and even then id look at better driveshafts (double cardian up front...and SYE eliminator and rear driveshaft) your mentioning a new front drive shaft so thats good. |
