Canada Remote start....

When I remote start 2012 Overland in the mornings…sometimes the heated seats, heated steering or rear defrost or any combination of the three come on and sometimes nothing.

I read somewhere in the manual that these things will turn on automatically when remote started in cold weather. In warm weather the driver ventilated seats will turn on.

For me, it’s a hit and miss. Yesterday, I remote started after work and it was 9 Celsius and only rear defrost came on. This morning when leaving for work, nothing came on and it was 6 Celsius.

Am I missing something here?

It's really hard to get a response sometimes, really depends on everything. I personally don't work for Chrysler, but I have read a few really good forum posts with them involved. Just need to be patient and wait for them to respond, sometimes it can take a few days. But someone like me who has 134 posts in 1 month I will always be around to read anything that is put up on the forums.

Boyvan,

Sorry I missed your posts, I'm not on here everyday but i do try to get to as many posts as I can.

To give a quick answer to your question, the Comfort System can be activated/deactivated and set up through your EVIC.
When you remote start your Overland, the features will automatically turn on when temperatures are below 5° C.

For more information on the Remote Start Comfort System operation, please refer to “Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)/Customer-Programmable Features (SETUP)” in “Understanding Your Instrument Panel” in your Owner’s Manual and your DVD.

If you are experiencing erratic activity when you remote start, the logical thing to do is get your Overland to your local dealer to ensure there are no issues with the programming.

Hope that helps and have a great day!
