Jared,
Sweet looking ride but how are you going to drive from the back seat? Is there some remote I don't know about?

Re: My GC

Haha sounds good! We should do a lowermainland meet sometime soon or possibly go hit a few light trails, or hit the arms for a beer or something. Theres still a few things that I need to get sorted before I do any decent offroading, its got a bad clunk every now and then when you let off the gas, might be the u-joints, I'm going to have to look into that but somethings definately going on. I saw those whipsaw vids and would love to do that this year but I'm not sure if I'll have this thing ready to go by then or not, been out of work for awhile and just getting back to work so there are some priorities before the jeep unfortunately.

We're going to be meeting up at the Fleetwood Arms Pub on Saturday morning at 9:30AM. If you're going to come, let me know when you are sure. Also, before you head out, check the other thread for the details for Saturday:

Usually around the Abbotsford/Mission area. Done a little exploring around the Coquihalla area as well...Stave and Harrison Lakes...Sylvester...Pretty much anywhere I can find someone to join me for a journey out to...

Sure...I don't mind seeing what kind of a beating those rims and tires can take on a trail before they pack it in! Might be a little expensive for you though! :cheeky4:

Later.

Re: My GC

There's some nice trails out in that area, we used to go out by Sylvester Falls, trails north of Sasquatch Park in Harrison, East of Chilliwack Lake.
Wish I was out there I'd definately come along...sigh!

Mr.Blondie, you might want to invest in a nice set of cheap winter steelies for off roading, hate to see one of those rims get snapped on a trail they look expensive.

Of coarse, then you've got to do something about the paint too, because, if you're gonna come wheelin', sooner or later you're gonna get some custom pinstripes!

...Here's what mine looks like:

Yeah...I haven't been out since early fall, and I'm really looking forward to heading out tomorrow!

How's the wheelin' out in Fort McMoney?

Jared 04-10-2009 05:19 PM

Re: My GC

Yeah, I'll come out tomorrow, my tires are just about on the wear bars though lol so hopefully its not too bad.

Re: My GC

Actually the wheeling bites around here. There's a few trails, nothing even remotely "challenging". Cut lines and driving over beaver dams. You could do any of the trails around her with a 2WD. I've found that the concept of wheeling around here seems to be cruise through the bush at 80 mph, stop and get drunk then try not to roll it on the way back home.

Now that Jared has given you that little bit of info remember to take him some place where the mud is really greasy. lol

I hope you've got at least one spare tire and a thick skin...cuz some of the guys out tomorrow are gonna be ribbing you pretty hard about those wheels! (At least, I'm assuming they will, knowing how they are)

Oh, and by "Spare" I don't mean the factory donut spare either...the overall diameter of your spare should be pretty close to the other tires or you'll toast your T-Case and/or VC's, and tow trucks get mighty expensive once you leave pavement...

Not trying to scare you off, just trying to make sure you're aware.

Later.

Re: My GC

I've actually got another set of factory rims with 2 tires with about 80% tread on them, maybe I'll go to my parents and throw them on the back then throw my spare on the front with whatever one of the best other tires that I have lol. Pretty ghetto though because then I'd be running 3 different tires on the thing.

WJCraig 04-11-2009 12:57 AM

Re: My GC

That would probably be a good idea...both for the health of your nice rims, and your wallet!

Jared 04-11-2009 01:02 AM

Re: My GC

I think you're confusing me with the guy with the 22s. ;) I have stock rims but **** tires :)

WJCraig 04-11-2009 01:13 AM

Re: My GC

Oops...my mistake...sometimes the wobbly pops make me confuse things...:alcoholic:

In that case, it may be best to put the best 2 on, but probably not quite as crucial as when I originally thought I was talking about about bald low pro 22" tires...(Which is why you would need the thick skin) BUt since that's not you, never mind what I said before...

PM me a cell number or something, just in case of something not going to plan...

Later.

Craig.
